1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Lugbook ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. We may update these terms at any time and will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Lugbook. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate, complete, and current. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that provide false or misleading information.
3. The Lugbook Platform
Lugbook is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects travellers ("Carriers") with individuals ("Buyers") who wish to have goods transported across borders. Lugbook does not own, carry, or insure any goods. We facilitate introductions and provide tools — the agreement for carriage is solely between Carrier and Buyer.
4. Carrier Responsibilities
Carriers are responsible for: (a) ensuring all items comply with the laws of departure and destination countries; (b) accurately declaring goods at customs; (c) not carrying prohibited, illegal, or dangerous items; (d) maintaining honest communication with Buyers. Lugbook accepts no liability for customs penalties, confiscations, or legal consequences arising from non-compliant carriage.
5. Buyer Responsibilities
Buyers must: (a) provide accurate descriptions of requested goods; (b) pay the agreed price promptly; (c) not request prohibited or restricted items; (d) arrange safe meetup arrangements with the Carrier. Lugbook is not responsible for goods not received, damaged, or lost after handover.
6. Fees & Payments
Lugbook currently charges zero platform fees. Any payment agreed between Carrier and Buyer is handled directly between those parties. Lugbook is not a payment processor and accepts no liability for disputed payments. Future fee structures will be communicated with 30 days' notice.
7. Prohibited Items
You must not request or carry: firearms, ammunition, or weapons; controlled substances or narcotics; counterfeit goods or items infringing intellectual property rights; items subject to international trade sanctions; perishable goods without appropriate declarations; any item illegal in the origin or destination country.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lugbook shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform, including but not limited to lost goods, customs seizures, personal injury, or financial loss. Our total liability shall not exceed £100.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
