Lugbook connects real people. Most interactions are safe, positive, and genuinely helpful. But knowing how to protect yourself makes every experience better for everyone.
“Every carrier on Lugbook is identity-verified. Every listing shows a real route, a real arrival date, and a real person. But your instincts are your best safety tool — if something feels off, walk away.”
— The Lugbook Safety Team
Follow these guidelines on every transaction — whether you are a carrier or a buyer.
Every carrier must verify their identity before their listings go live. We check government-issued ID and cross-reference it with travel documents to confirm the trip is real.
Always meet in a public, well-lit location. Avoid private residences for first-time handovers, especially for high-value items.
Agree payment terms in writing before the trip. Never send full payment before you have received and inspected the goods.
As a carrier, you are legally responsible for everything in your luggage. Never carry items you have not personally inspected — regardless of what you are told they contain.
Carriers must comply with customs regulations in both their departure and destination countries. Ignorance of the law is not a defence.
Most Lugbook users are genuine — but it is important to know the warning signs of a scam or unsafe situation.
Share only the information necessary to complete the transaction. Your personal details are yours — do not share more than you need to.
If something feels wrong, trust your instincts. You can report any user or listing directly from the platform and our team will review it within 24 hours.
If you feel you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services immediately. Do not wait to report to Lugbook first.
